Overview We are seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Technician to perform installation, service, and maintenance operations while mentoring junior technicians and ensuring all work meets company, safety, and code standards. This is a working leadership role requiring strong technical ability, organization, and communication skills. We primarily work at large chip manufacturers and hospitals. Salary $40 to $50 dollars per hour DOE. Benefits 401(k) Company truck Fuel card Paid Time Off Retention bonus of $5,000 after one year Key Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision Lead and coordinate daily work for technicians and apprentices Train and mentor junior team members in proper installation and service procedures Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards Act as the primary point of contact on job sites Technical Duties Diagnose and repair or replace Commercial HVAC systems and self contained units Commission and test systems to ensure proper operation Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and equipment manuals Quality & Compliance Ensure compliance with local building codes, EPA regulations, and safety policies Verify correct refrigerant charging, airflow, and electrical connections Complete required job documentation, reports, and customer notes Customer Interaction Communicate clearly with customers regarding system issues, repair options, and recommendations Represent the company professionally on all job sites Required Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on commercial HVAC experience EPA Section 608 Universal Certification Valid driver's license and clean driving record Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical components, and airflow principles Preferred Qualifications NATE certification or equivalent industry credential OSHA 30 certification Aerial Lift Certification Fork Lift Certification Experience leading or training other technicians Experience with both installation and service work Skills & Competencies Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Strong leadership and communication abilities Ability to work independently and make technical decisions on-site Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ pounds Comfortable working in attics, rooftops, crawlspaces, and outdoor environments Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces JL Finley is a veteran owned company that emphasizes quality work and opportunity for growth.
