Opportunity:
Physician - Pulmonary Critical Care
Job Details:
- Provide locum Pulmonary Critical Care support across multiple facility locations
- In-house coverage shifts run 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with rounding included during daytime shifts
- Offsite pager call coverage available during overnight hours at select locations
- Each locum will only be assigned one location per 12-hour shift
- Coverage is capped at 7 consecutive days and will rotate between locations to allow for lighter days between shifts
- Total coverage needed is 30 shifts per month across all locums
- Other pulmonology physicians will be onsite with the locum at some locations
- Setting: Inpatient, Level I, II, and III Trauma
- Inpatient Pulmonology preferred; Critical Care Intensivist required for ICU
- Required Pulmonary Procedures: Ventilation Management (invasive and non-invasive), Bronchoscopy (diagnostic and with Bronchial Alveolar Lavage), chest tube insertion, central line insertion, arterial line insertion, Thoracentesis, and therapeutic with foreign body extraction
- Critical Care Medical Patients include: cardiac arrest/failure, respiratory arrest/failure, sepsis, metabolic disorders, renal failure, overdose/poisoning, and drowning
- Critical Care Surgical Patients include: pre- and post-operative general, vascular, orthopedic, neuro, and cardiovascular/thoracic patients
- Preferred Critical Care Procedures: PA catheter insertion, dialysis catheter placement, diagnostic/therapeutic taps, lumbar puncture, and paracentesis
- EMR: EPIC (training required prior to first day)
- Worksite resources include onsite lab and onsite X-ray
- Facility has 48 ICU beds
- No supervision required
- Weekend and on-call availability required
- Board Certified in Pulmonology and Critical Care required
- Active Colorado License or Active IMLC required
- Active ACLS, BLS, and DEA highly preferred and required for credentialing
- Recent Level I Trauma experience within the last 24 months required
- Must be able to perform all required procedures
- Clean malpractice and background required
