Alabama Women's Wellness Center is a busy OBGYN practice seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to provide front office support for four healthcare providers.
The Medical Receptionist is generally the first point of contact for patients and plays an important role in creating a welcoming, professional experience. This position requires excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently manage multiple responsibilities while keeping patient needs a priority.

Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments using practice software
- Answer a multiline phone system promptly and professionally
- Take messages and direct calls appropriately
- Greet patients and visitors in a pleasant and professional manner
- Send and receive information, including medical records, by email, mail, or fax
- Protect patient privacy by properly securing protected health information (PHI) and maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Accurately complete patient registration
- Collect and record payments for services and help ensure daily records are balanced
- Verify insurance benefits
- Maintain accurate and organized hard-copy filing systems
- Perform administrative support tasks such as proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, and other duties as assigned
- Maintain a clean, neat, and fully stocked main lobby and restroom
- Open the office at the designated time and ensure front desk operations are fully ready for the business day
- Manage incoming and outgoing packages, mail, and deliveries
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least 2 years of customer service experience required
- At least 2 years of computer experience required
- Medical terminology experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
