Work Environment
This full-time position operates onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility, featuring advanced equipment and therapeutic tools designed to maximize patient outcomes. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, providing a structured yet flexible environment that caters to both patient needs and therapist growth. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse team of healthcare practitioners, enhancing collaborative treatment approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations to assess each patient's goals, limitations, and functional capacity, crafting personalized treatment plans.
- Maintain an optimal patient load to ensure quality interactions, typically handling one patient per hour to deliver focused care.
- Utilize effective, evidence-based therapeutic techniques to maximize each patient's range of motion and mobility, while reducing reliance on medications through alternative therapies.
- Design and implement customized fitness and wellness programs that empower patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
- Document patient progress diligently and communicate findings with the healthcare team for coordinated care.
- Encourage and motivate patients throughout their treatment journey to help them regain confidence and functionality.
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, primary care physicians, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient management.
- Participate in departmental meetings to discuss patient outcomes and share best practices, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The Orthopedic Rehabilitation Specialist will primarily focus on adult and senior patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal disorders. Understanding the unique challenges faced by this population, you will apply your expertise in therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and innovative rehabilitation methods to aid their recovery. Your ability to build trust and rapport with patients will significantly impact their rehabilitation journey and overall satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Physical Therapy (MPT) or Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid Physical Therapist license in the state of Florida.
- Clean professional record with no board or disciplinary actions on your license.
- Strong proficiency in clinical manual therapy techniques and designing effective exercise regimens.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, particularly WebPT, is highly desired.
Preferred Experience
- Prior work experience in orthopedic outpatient settings, specifically in a rehabilitation service delivery model.
- Experience working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team within a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive treatment plans with proven rehabilitation outcomes.
Compensation and Benefits
