Its a Dual Hat role: Superintendent & QCM
The Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing commercial construction projects to ensure they are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with all applicable safety regulations and industry standards. This role requires expertise in construction management, site supervision, and safety compliance, with a focus on quality control, subcontractor coordination, and adherence to project specifications. The Site Superintendent will play a key role in maintaining a safe work environment, enforcing OSHA regulations, and facilitating effective communication between project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily construction site operations, ensuring project timelines and budgets are met.
- Communicate and Coordinate with Owners and clients as Harbor's primary site contact to ensure expectations and goals are met.
- Enforce compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations, serving as the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO).
- Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure proper safety procedures are followed.
- Conduct weekly progress meetings with Subcontractors and staff and complete 3 week look ahead for planning purposes
- Supervise subcontractors, coordinate work schedules, and ensure high-quality workmanship.
- Review blueprints, project specifications, and technical documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain project documentation, including daily reports, safety logs, and site inspections.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, QC officers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Identify and resolve any site issues that may impact project progress.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of construction experience in commercial projects as the designated SSHO, Superintendent or QC officer.
- Experience as Site Superintendent, QC officer or designated SSHO at government facilities is preferred but not required
- 30-Hour OSHA certification is required.
- Proven experience in site supervision and safety management.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project scheduling.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in project management software and reporting tools is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site and adapt to changing project needs.
