Heavy Diesel Equipment Mechanic (Shop and Traveling)

We are a growing construction drilling company specializing in foundation drilling and heavy construction equipment. Our team maintains and repairs some of the most advanced drilling and lifting equipment in the industry. We are looking for skilled Heavy Diesel Equipment Mechanics who take pride in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex machinery.
Position Summary
The Heavy Diesel Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy construction and foundation drilling equipment. This role requires strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and rotary drilling components. Positions are available both in our shop and in traveling field service roles supporting projects across various job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines and powertrain systems
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, pumps, cylinders, and valves
- Maintain and repair rotary heads and drilling components
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment
- Repair electrical and mechanical systems on drilling rigs and heavy machinery
- Conduct field service repairs and emergency troubleshooting when required
- Document repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used
- Work safely and efficiently while maintaining high equipment reliability

- Bauer, Klemm, Commacchio, Delmag and ABI Drill Rigs
- Other heavy foundation and construction equipment
EOE/Minorities/Females/Veterans/Disability (Compliant with the new VEVRAA and Section 503 rules)
Qualifications
- Experience working on heavy diesel equipment
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems
- Experience troubleshooting diesel engines
- Familiarity with rotary drilling equipment preferred
- Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel for field service roles (for traveling positions)
- Experience with European built equipment
- Experience with German Schematics and Diagnostic Procedures a plus
Compensation
- Based on experience or local union rates (Local 77 and Local 37 Operators)
Work Options
- Traveling Field Mechanic Positions - work on job sites supporting equipment in the field
- Shop Mechanic Positions - work primarily in our maintenance facility
