Overview In this role you design, analyze and test power electronics for Telemetry and Flight Termination systems, contributing to robust, low-noise analog power and interface electronics. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to drive from concept to integration on circuit cards and stack-level designs. You'll lead technical tasks, guide junior engineers, and help mature the organization's power electronics capabilities. Responsibilities- Design, analyze, simulate, and document power conversion and related analog circuitry
- Develop non-isolated and isolated switch-mode and linear power converters for board-mounted applications
- Architect at the system level and oversee circuit card stack development through requirements to integration
- Guide ECAD drafters and junior engineers on layout, routing, and layer stackup
- Ensure creepage and clearance requirements are met and participate in design reviews
- Lead large teams with schedules, budgets, and technical execution
- Foster technical growth and capture opportunities to mature the organization's capabilities
Key requirements- Bachelor in STEM with 8+ years of relevant experience OR advanced STEM degree with 5+ years of experience
- Experience with linear converters and non-isolated converter topologies (buck, boost, buck-boost)
- Experience with isolated converter topologies (flyback, half-bridge, full-bridge, forward, push-pull, resonant)
- Proficiency with MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica or similar tools
- EMI filter design and power electronics analysis/test experience
- Transformer or inductor design experience
- Experience creating electrical design specifications
- Familiarity with non-isolated and isolated power electronics layouts and ECAD processes
- Ability to work in a defense environment and obtain/maintain security clearance
