Overview In this role, you will shape the long-term direction of Cisco ACM's configuration platform and drive architecture decisions to support thousands of customers in multi-cloud environments. You will lead high-impact programs spanning configuration delivery, disaster recovery, fleet management, and platform reliability, partnering with cross-functional teams to raise engineering standards. You will mentor engineers, participate in major incident reviews, and design systems that reduce operational burden. Responsibilities- Define long-term technical direction for the configuration platform, including architecture and build vs. buy tradeoffs
- Lead and deliver complex projects across configuration delivery, disaster recovery, fleet management, and platform reliability
- Set standards for code quality, system design, observability, and operational excellence
- Mentor engineers across levels through code reviews, design feedback, pairing, and coaching
- Own production reliability by providing technical judgment during incidents and reducing operational burden
Key requirements- Bachelor + 8 years, or Master + 6 years, or PhD + 3 years of related experience
- Experience building and operating large-scale production systems with Go and/or Python
- Designing resilient, scalable distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, GovCloud)
- Experience with configuration and infrastructure as code tools (Puppet, Terraform, Ansible) at scale
- Experience leading major technical initiatives and influencing engineering direction beyond immediate teams
