Overview In this role you will lead FPGA-based design and verification for radar applications within Raytheon's Radar Digital Products team. You will translate system requirements into FPGA architectures, guide small teams, and deliver production-quality FPGA releases. You'll collaborate across hardware, software, systems, and management to ensure on-time, on-budget product success. This is a high-impact, defense-focused role with opportunities to shape FPGA solutions for mission-critical radar systems.

Responsibilities- Own or contribute to FPGA-based designs from concept to delivery
- Determine technical approaches to meet system requirements
- Lead small teams and mentor junior engineers
- Design and deliver production-grade FPGA releases
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, software, and program management
- Architect FPGA-based systems including CONOPS and interfaces
- Translate system requirements into FPGA requirements
- Code in VHDL for reliability and maintainability
- Verify designs with self-checking tests and coverage tracking
- Create documentation including requirements, verification plans, and user guides
- Support internal and external technical reviews
Key requirements- Degree in STEM with 8+ years of relevant experience
- Digital design experience and coding in VHDL or Verilog
- Experience with AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera, or Actel/Microsemi FPGAs
- Synthesis tools: Synplify, Xilinx Vivado, or Intel Quartus Pro
- Timing Closure and Chipscope/Signal Tap experience
- Experience developing requirements for FPGA products
- Active DoD security clearance (or ability to obtain)
