Overview In this role you strengthen the reliability of flight components and production assemblies across design, test, and manufacturing. You will leverage data to drive reliability improvements from design to production and flight, collaborating with cross-functional teams to reduce risk and complexity. You'll work hands-on on the factory floor, lab, and in the office to support a lean, autonomous production system and mission-driven goals. This position offers impact by shaping hardware reliability for spaceflight with a strong emphasis on root-cause analysis and process optimization.

Responsibilities- Collaborate with design, test, and manufacturing to assure avionics reliability (controllers, RIOs, sensors, RF, power systems, solar arrays, wire harnessing)
- Track yield, test/inspection escapes, and capture lessons learned for NPI
- Develop and validate Lean test and inspection processes to meet quality goals
- Monitor product/process performance during ramp-up with quality/analysis tools
- Lead build quality reviews, identify risk reduction opportunities, simplify designs/processes for manufacturability
- Investigate production/test/flight failures to identify immediate and underlying root causes
- Perform structured electrical root cause analysis using schematics, test equipment, inspection processes
- Conduct gage R&R studies to validate test systems for product acceptance
- Contain non-conforming product and guide rework activities on the shop floor
- Support continuous improvement and Lean production through standard rework guides and optimized inspection and processes
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in engineering (as stated)
- 5+ years in manufacturing, quality, and/or design engineering roles
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
