Electrical Engineer - Medium/High Voltage

Overview

In this role you will design and support medium- and high-voltage power systems for renewable energy projects, delivering technically sound solutions that meet client and regulatory standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to advance projects from feasibility to construction, shaping HV infrastructure across solar, wind, BESS, EV charging, and microgrids. You'll drive design quality, coordinate with field teams, and mentor others in a growth-oriented, collaborative culture.

Responsibilities
  • Design HV power distribution/management systems for renewables and microgrids
  • Prepare specifications, drawings, and construction packages (15kV-200kV)
  • Conduct QA/QC to ensure compliance with standards
  • Provide technical support for HV collection systems, substations, and equipment up to 200kV
  • Perform electrical studies (short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, relay coordination, ampacity)
  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment in renewable facilities
  • Collaborate with civil/structural engineers and coordinate across offices
  • Conduct due diligence, feasibility and interconnection studies; prepare master plan reports
  • Participate in project management tasks (meetings, design coordination, shop drawings, construction administration)
  • Mentor engineering and design personnel
  • Travel for client meetings and site reviews; flexibility for extended hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain licensure within six months
  • Minimum 5 years of consulting experience in medium- and high-voltage power system design
  • Experience preparing electrical construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and construction administration for power projects
  • Clear technical communication to engineers, clients, and stakeholders
  • Strong time management and prioritization
  • Relationship-building and teamwork (independent and collaborative)
  • MS Office proficiency
  • AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and/or PLS-CADD
  • Power analysis software: EasyPower, ETAP, SKM Power Tools
