Overview As Plant Engineering Manager at the Hidden Valley Ranch plant, you lead engineering activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You'll manage technical resources, capital investments, and budgets while guiding facility infrastructure, maintenance, and site projects. You'll collaborate with Operations and other sites to improve manufacturing performance and plan for long-term needs. Responsibilities- Provide technical and facility leadership to align resources with plant priorities (productivity, cost reduction, safety, environmental compliance, new product initiatives)
- Oversee facility management including security, safety, maintenance, utilities, and permits
- Maintain a 3-5 year Facility Improvement Plan and the Master Site Plan
- Lead plant construction and contractor safety programs ensuring regulatory compliance
- Support plant operations and site safety metrics and participate in the Plant Leadership Team
- Review engineering work for standards, safety, and regulatory alignment
- Drive equipment standardization and best practices; coordinate with manufacturers on significant equipment decisions
- Own and update the plant's technical documentation and plans for regular updates
- Lead early-stage equipment and project management practices to enable successful implementation
- Follow capital project management practices (procurement, cost/schedule control, scope, approvals)
- Manage annual and three-year capital programs and capital spending accountability
- Coordinate internal reviews and external changes affecting the plant (new products, reformulations, packaging)
- Monitor project execution and track capitalization-related activities and credits
- Mentor and coach engineering personnel; support career development and capability building
- Participate in hiring, promotion, and staffing decisions for plant Engineering personnel
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in plant-based engineering roles
- 2+ years of experience leading Engineering teams in manufacturing
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with rotating equipment and variable conditions
- Solid experience in engineering capital projects management
- Experience with structured manufacturing improvement methodologies and tools
- Ability to influence and accomplish work through others
- Ability to develop technical solutions across multiple functions
