Overview

In this role you will develop geopolitical insights and analysis for Lazard and its clients, combining geopolitical, policy, and macroeconomic perspectives. You will work with a small team and engage with senior bankers, investment teams, and firm leaders, shaping analyses and client materials. The position offers mentorship from renowned experts and exposure to Lazard's global platform, with opportunities to influence strategic conversations and investment decisions. This is a hands-on, cross-functional environment that rewards clear, evidence-based viewpoints and collaborative problem-solving.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze, evaluate and synthesize information for verbal and written delivery to senior audiences
  • Handle qualitative and quantitative data across geopolitics and macroeconomics
  • Conduct in-depth research across companies, industries, geographies, and topics
  • Assist in preparing client presentations and marketing materials
  • Develop a point of view and challenge consensus when appropriate
  • Be a team player and contribute to a collegial culture
  • Interact with senior bankers and clients
  • Collaborate across a small, hybrid team and global cross-functional firm
Key requirements
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in management consulting, investment banking, macroeconomic investment, or geopolitics-focused corporate advisory
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's a plus
  • Quantitative analysis and data visualization skills; proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; capable of leveraging Bloomberg
  • Ability to communicate with senior decision makers
  • Motivation, creativity, maturity, poise, and teamwork
  • Comfort operating in an unstructured environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams
  • Foreign language capabilities and geography experience are a plus
  • Sector knowledge or interests (e.g., healthcare, energy, technology) are a plus
