Overview In this role you will drive international and cross-border tax strategy for Magna, supporting US and global tax initiatives. You will work with the US Tax Team on M&A and restructurings, and oversee compliance, forecasting, and reporting to ensure accurate tax positions. You will mentor the Tax Team and collaborate with global finance and legal groups to align strategies. This role offers impact across planning, analysis, and process improvements, including AI-enabled initiatives.
Responsibilities- Strategic tax planning and cross-border transaction management
- Support US tax team in external M&A and internal restructurings, including deal agreements and integration
- Oversee international tax compliance, filings, and book-to-tax adjustments
- Lead quarterly/annual international income tax provision, forecasting, and budgeting
- Utilize OneSource and OneStream for data analysis and reporting
- Conduct in-depth research and prepare technical memos on tax issues
- Monitor tax press and communicate developments to the tax group
- Coordinate with outside tax and legal advisors on projects
- Mentor and develop tax team members and drive process improvements
- Lead special projects and other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5-10 years of international tax experience (Big Four or corporate)
- Strong knowledge of U.S. international tax laws and regulations including OBBB
- Proficiency in OneSource, OneStream, and Microsoft Office (Power BI a plus)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
