Overview In this role you will advise cities and local government clients on zoning, planning, platting, and land use in Austin. You will draft ordinances, development agreements, and related documents while supporting annexation, ETJ issues, PIDs, and TIRZs. You'll attend public meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex municipal matters, delivering practical legal guidance. Responsibilities- Advise cities on zoning, planning, platting, and land use matters
- Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, development agreements, easements, and related documents
- Counsel on annexation, ETJ issues, PIDs, TIRZs, economic development, and public infrastructure
- Attend public meetings and support city councils, boards, commissions, and staff
- Research and analyze municipal, land use, and real estate legal issues
- Collaborate with attorneys and client teams on complex governmental matters
Key requirements- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in Texas
- Experience in land use, zoning, municipal law, real estate, or local government preferred
- Strong writing, research, and public-facing communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and provide practical, client-focused legal advice
