Overview In this contract role, you will apply EAR/CCL guidelines to classify products and determine ECCN or EAR99 treatment. You will research product details, document conclusions, and escalate complex cases to ensure accurate export controls. You'll work within a global trade, logistics, or supply chain context to support a scalable compliance program. You will collaborate with Compliance, Operations, and cross-functional teams to resolve classification questions and uphold internal procedures. Responsibilities- Review and validate export-control classifications for products
- Research EAR/CCL to determine ECCN or EAR99
- Assess product descriptions, specs, manufacturer info and documentation to support decisions
- Identify items within controlled ECCN vs EAR99
- Document decisions and rationale per procedures
- Escalate complex or ambiguous classifications to subject-matter experts
- Support regular audits and ensure alignment with internal policies
- Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, and cross-functional teams to resolve questions
Key requirements- Bachelor or equivalent experience
- Foundational knowledge of U.S. export controls (EAR/ITAR)
- Working knowledge of CCL and ECCN framework
- Understanding of EAR99 classifications and export-control requirements
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
