Responsibilities- Lead and manage complex technical projects and innovation in bioinformatics methods
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and design architectures
- Build cross-functional relationships to meet strategic targets
- Advise on complex bioinformatics and engineering matters for stakeholders
- Design and implement advanced bioinformatics solutions with genomics focus
- Collaborate with molecular biology teams on assay development and analysis
- Drive regulatory compliance through analysis, verification/validation and documentation
- Develop and optimize complex analysis pipelines with robust algorithms
- Guide result interpretation and reporting standards considering medical/commercial needs
- Establish QC metrics and procedures to ensure data integrity
- Drive improvements in accuracy, cost of goods (COGS), and turnaround time
- Lead verification and validation efforts following compliance processes
- Interface with clinical and commercial stakeholders as consumers of bioinformatic data
- Architect and implement complex software systems with maintainable APIs
- Establish development standards, observability, and monitoring

Key requirements- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of related experience, or Master's with 6+, or PhD with 4+ years in bioinformatics, molecular biology, computational biology or engineering
- Experience leading technical projects (preferred)
- Experience in system architecture and design with tools like BWA, GATK, Dragen, Nextflow, Python, SKLearn, SciPy, PyTORCH, CI/CD, or GitHub Actions
- Understanding of regulatory requirements in bioinformatics and associated documentation
- Strong knowledge of bioinformatics algorithms and statistical techniques
- Experience with molecular biology concepts underlying products
