Overview As Commercial Analyst Lead, you will guide a team of Middle Market Analysts supporting Sales Leaders and Relationship Managers in market-specific lending and sales activities. You'll oversee CA workflows, ensure consistency and accuracy of outputs, and drive process improvements with cross-functional partners. You will hire, onboard, and develop CAs, and coach the team through performance reviews. This role combines leadership with a strong focus on client service and risk management within a collaborative banking environment.

Responsibilities- Lead and accountability for Commercial Analysts and provide direction on in-market sales support
- Oversee CA workflow and ensure adherence to processes and procedures
- Review CA outputs (pitch books, collaboration, communication) for accuracy and consistency
- Hire, onboard, and train new Commercial Analysts; conduct ongoing coaching and performance reviews
- Partner with Middle Market Leadership, Credit, Underwriting, HR, and other stakeholders to drive process improvements
- Serve as the central point of contact for CA day-to-day responsibilities and system questions (e.g., nCino)
- Collaborate with CSLs, COs, UTLs, UWs, Credit Systems to identify and implement underwriting improvements
- Plan and manage CA staffing and controllable expenses; travel as needed
- Comply with KeyBank policies and maintain ethical, professional conduct
- Communicate changes in processes or policies to the team
Key requirements- Minimum 5 years of commercial banking experience (credit structuring & analysis, sales, risk assessment)
- Minimum 1 year of leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial loan and deposit documentation
- Ability to manage workflow and complex deals
- Ability to handle stress and competing priorities
- Experience in Commercial Middle Market Credit Structuring & Financial Analysis
- Experience in Commercial Middle Market Underwriting and Financial Analysis
- Ability to build and strengthen cross-functional working relationships
- Desired: accounting background (preferred)
- Must be able to travel occasionally
