Overview

As an Industrial Quality Control Manager, you will lead QA/QC programs across multiple site projects in industrial construction and power generation. You will ensure compliance with ASME, NBIC, AISC, and AWS, oversee NDE activities, and drive continuous improvement and robust documentation. You'll work closely with project teams, contractors, and clients to resolve quality issues and minimize rework. This role combines hands-on field leadership with strategic quality systems to safeguard project success and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain site QA/QC programs to meet client specs and codes
  • Plan and perform inspections, NDE oversight, welding inspections, hydrostatic/pneumatic tests, and final acceptance
  • Lead QA/QC personnel and third-party inspectors; provide training and feedback
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits; manage corrective and preventive actions to closure
  • Review and approve quality documentation, including QCPs, WPS, material traceability, NDE reports, and commissioning docs
  • Utilize Bluebeam and other tools to manage drawings, punch lists, and inspection reports
  • Coordinate with project management, construction, engineering, and client reps to resolve quality issues
  • Ensure safety compliance on site and participate in pre-job planning
  • Prepare quality reports and metrics; drive improvement to reduce rework and costs
Key requirements
  • Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years QA/QC experience in industrial construction or power generation with hands-on field inspections
  • Strong knowledge of ASME, NBIC, AISC, AWS and related standards
  • NDE familiarity with UT, RT, MT, PT; relevant Level II/III certifications preferred
  • AWS CWI or equivalent highly desirable
  • Experience managing welding inspection programs and WPS/PQR/welder qualifications
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management systems and supplier quality audits
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam and MS Office; strong quality reporting skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities; willingness to travel frequently
  • Valid driver's license; readiness for extensive domestic and potential international travel
