Overview In this role you will help shape Ibotta's public policy position and advocacy on AI, data privacy, digital promotions, and technology policy. You will work across cross-functional teams to monitor legislative developments, advance advocacy strategies, and cultivate relationships with policymakers and stakeholders. The position is externally facing, with travel to meet officials and testify at hearings, and is grounded in Ibotta's values and mission to make every purchase rewarding. You will drive policy impact at the state and local level while supporting broader government affairs initiatives.

Responsibilities- Identify, monitor, and manage local and state legislative proposals impacting Ibotta
- Execute advocacy strategies within assigned jurisdictions to support government affairs priorities
- Coordinate with external lobbyists and consultants, including managing communications and legislative intelligence
- Cultivate relationships with lawmakers, regulators, staff, industry partners, and key stakeholders
- Draft policy position statements, amendments, advocacy materials, and internal/external documents
- Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and testimony for engagement with officials and stakeholders
- Represent Ibotta in hearings, meetings, and policy forums as appropriate
- Participate in industry coalitions and coordinate with peers on shared policy priorities
- Collaborate with Legal, Sales/BD, Marketing, and other teams to assess policy impacts
- Provide updates to the Director of Government Affairs and internal stakeholders on developments, risks, and opportunities
- Support development of Government Affairs processes, tracking systems, and resources

Key requirements- 5-7 years of experience in government affairs or related field with state/local government experience
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Government, Law, or related field (preferred)
- Understanding of legislative and regulatory processes at state/local levels
- Proven ability to build productive relationships with policymakers and internal partners
- Proven project management skills across multiple jurisdictions and external partners
- Comfort representing the company externally before government officials
- Ability to analyze complex legislative proposals and communicate findings clearly
- Interest in rapidly evolving policy issues including AI, data privacy, technology, and consumer policy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate in fast-moving policy environments
