Overview As a Process Development Associate Scientist at Amgen, you contribute to the Late-Stage Synthetics and Commercial Drug Product team by advancing formulation and process development for synthetic assets. You'll help create robust clinical and commercial formulations and support lifecycle initiatives across oral and parenteral dosage forms. You collaborate with scientists to enable successful development and launch of synthetic drug products, leveraging digital tools to improve efficiency. Responsibilities- Hands-on spray-drying formulation and process development with experimental design and data analysis
- Scale-up spray-drying from lab to manufacturing, including technology transfer and parameter/quality attribute identification
- Collaborate within the Drug Product Technologies Department to support programs and initiatives
- Design, execute, and interpret experiments; assist in data analysis and interpretation
- Use digital tools and AI-enabled solutions to improve experimental efficiency and insights
- Contribute to process improvements, strategy development, and cross-functional partnerships
- Organize and communicate information within the team to optimize formulations and processes
Key requirements- Master's degree with 1 year of scientific experience OR Bachelor's degree with 3 years of scientific experience
- Understanding of unit operations for oral solid dosage forms (granulation, drying, milling, compression, etc.)
- Knowledge of stability of synthetic molecules and impact of manufacturing processes on product quality
- Ability to design, execute, and interpret experiments
- Strong problem-solving skills for formulation and characterization of parenteral and oral synthetic molecules
- Excellent written and verbal communication in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
