Overview In this role, you will lead the Legal Operations function to make the in-house team more efficient, strategic, and cost-conscious. You will partner with Legal leadership to shape a scalable operating model and drive technology, analytics, and process improvements across the department. The position blends strategic planning with hands-on implementation in a fast-paced, global retail environment. You will collaborate with IT and cross-functional partners to enable data-driven decisions and transformational change.

Responsibilities- Lead technology strategy and platform governance for the Legal Department, including matter management, workflow automation, document/knowledge management, e-billing, e-discovery, budgeting, invoicing, and AI-enabled solutions
- Serve as the primary liaison between Legal and IT to ensure successful deployment, governance, and support of legal technologies
- Develop automated reporting, dashboards, and KPIs to support leadership decisions and monitor legal spend, staffing, and performance
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows, improve service delivery, and increase visibility into legal work and resource allocation
- Oversee department operations such as onboarding, vendor management, records retention, and communications to stakeholders across the organization
- Support external relationships with law firms and vendors, including engagement terms, billing guidelines, renewals, and rate structures
- Contribute to department-wide transformation programs and change management to sustain improvements
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in legal operations or legal project management within a large corporate legal department
- Experience implementing and optimizing legal tech platforms and solutions
- Strong background in legal spend management, budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and invoicing processes
- Experience reviewing and managing commercial and vendor agreements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Professional certifications such as CLOC, PMP, or Legal Operations are preferred
