Overview

In this role you will lead the administrative management of clinical laboratory and pathology services within HHS, aligning personnel, budget, and regulatory compliance to support patient care. You will partner with medical directors and leadership to maintain a robust lab testing menu, drive growth, and shape strategic plans. You will oversee quality, billing, outreach, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure high standards and organizational impact. This is a pivotal leadership position shaping lab operations and service delivery across inpatient, ambulatory, and outreach settings.

Responsibilities
  • Direct the clinical laboratory and pathology services across inpatient, ambulatory, and outreach settings
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term goals in collaboration with medical staff
  • Ensure compliance with federal/state/local standards and accrediting bodies
  • Create and enforce policies for department operations and maintain required records
  • Manage budgeting, capital equipment, inventory, productivity, and cost accounting systems
  • Oversee staffing and qualifications to meet business needs
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements; report to administration
  • Lead and mentor lab management staff; support leadership development
  • Oversee IT systems related to the lab (LIS, middleware, POCT interfacing) and system maintenance
  • Manage billing, charging processes and outbound lab contracting/compliance
  • Drive growth through outreach, contracting, marketing, and new business development
  • Participate in committees and communicate changes to staff across service lines
  • Support student/intern programs and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate with nursing and department managers on changes in laboratory services
Key requirements
  • Five+ years of laboratory management experience
  • Knowledge of CLIA high-complexity requirements
  • Ability to allocate resources (budget and personnel)
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving能力
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • License/Certifications: Medical Technologist (ASCP) / Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP)
