Overview In this role you will lead financial reporting, cost accounting and internal controls for combined distribution and manufacturing operations. You will own month-end and year-end close, inventory valuation, standard costing, budgeting, and ROI analysis, partnering with operations and senior finance leadership. You will drive GAAP compliance, SOX controls, and continuous improvement of ERP-driven processes. This position provides visibility to site leadership and cross-functional partnerships, with impact on cost efficiency and capital planning.
Responsibilities- Lead month-end and year-end close for plant-level financials with timely, accurate reporting
- Prepare consolidated plant statements, management reports and KPI dashboards for leadership
- Own cost accounting processes including BOM maintenance, inventory valuation, standard costing and variance analysis
- Develop budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range plans with operations and corporate finance
- Evaluate capital projects using financial modeling and ROI analysis; manage CapEx tracking and capitalization
- Design and test internal controls to ensure SOX compliance and support audits
- Drive ERP process and master data improvements in partnership with IT and operations
- Supervise and develop plant accounting staff with clear performance metrics
- Prepare financial presentations for site leadership, divisional controllers and corporate stakeholders
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 5+ years of progressive manufacturing or distribution accounting experience including plant/controller responsibilities
- GAAP knowledge and external audit support experience
- Strong cost accounting background (BOMs, standard costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis)
- Budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling and ROI analysis experience
- Internal controls and SOX knowledge
- Advanced ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) with data/master data improvements
- Expert Excel and financial reporting tool experience
- CapEx accounting, fixed asset capitalization and depreciation knowledge
