Title Insurance Claims Counsel (Hybrid)

In this in-house attorney role, you will handle title insurance claims and defense matters, evaluating coverage, negotiating resolutions, and managing litigation through to completion. You will work within a collaborative, people-first culture to support claims decisions, reserve setting, and cost management. You'll engage with clients, opposing counsel, and courts to achieve fair, timely outcomes. This position offers impact through shaping defense strategies and enabling efficient settlements in a regulated environment.

• Investigate and evaluate coverage and liability for claims and resolve disputes
• Establish settlement and expense reserves
• Determine need to retain outside counsel
• Manage claims and/or litigation through final resolution
• Negotiate with claimants, opposing counsel, and third parties for resolution
• Attend mediations and court appearances as required
• Review and approve invoices for costs and attorneys' fees
• Assist with initial evaluation for possible recovery

• Licensed to practice law in good standing
• Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures in the field
• Excellent communication, negotiation and organizational skills
• Law Degree required
• Admitted to practice law in the US
• Typically 2-4 years of experience in title insurance/title underwriting and knowledge of insurance claims and resolution
