Overview In this role you will lead QA/QC activities on federal construction projects nationwide, developing and enforcing project QC plans that meet contract requirements and federal standards. You will coordinate with federal agencies (USACE, DoD, NASA), travel to site inspections, and oversee documentation and testing oversight. You help drive defect prevention, corrective actions, and ensure compliance across multiple sites. This is a mission-critical QC leadership role with broad federal impact and field presence.

Responsibilities- Develop and maintain project QC plans and procedures aligning with contract and federal standards
- Conduct regular site inspections, surveillance, and testing oversight to verify workmanship and materials
- Identify and track nonconformances; lead corrective actions and verify repairs
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and federal agency representatives (USACE, DoD, NASA) to resolve quality issues
- Prepare daily/weekly QC reports, inspection logs, test records, and final acceptance docs
- Manage and mentor on-site QC personnel; provide training on inspection techniques and documentation
- Conduct pre-construction quality reviews and provide technical input during planning
- Participate in subcontractor pre-qualifications and monitor supplier quality
- Support audits, third-party inspections, and federal spot checks; ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Maintain organized and auditable quality records and timely project documentation
Key requirements- Experience as a Quality Control Manager (QCM) on construction projects
- Experience on federal construction contracts or projects; familiarity with federal procurement and compliance
- Knowledge of QC principles, inspection/testing methods, and construction materials/processes
- Familiarity with USACE specifications; DoD and NASA project experience preferred
- Bachelor in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; or equivalent experience
- Minimum 510 years of progressive construction quality control experience (note: from ad)
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to present findings to federal stakeholders
- Willingness to travel frequently and stay at remote project sites
- Proficiency with inspection/documentation tools, digital reporting systems, and basic office software
- Certifications preferred: QCM, OSHA 30, ACI field, NDT; federal security clearances a plus
