Overview As an HR Manager for a mission-focused organization in Newburyport, you will lead core HR operations to enable productive, engaged teams. You will partner with staff and leadership to implement compliant HR practices, drive talent acquisition, payroll coordination, benefits, and performance processes. Responsibilities- Create and maintain HR policies, procedures, and guidelines aligned with legal requirements
- Manage end-to-end hiring, including advertising, applicant screening, interviewing, offers, and onboarding
- Foster inclusive culture through engagement programs and retention strategies
- Provide guidance on employee relations with discretion and sound judgment
- Coordinate payroll with external partner and maintain accurate HR/payroll data
- Manage benefits, leave processes, workers' compensation, and related records
- Lead performance review cycles and development planning
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and update the employee handbook
- Track HR metrics and prepare reports for leadership and board as requested
