Overview In this fully remote role you will assess life insurance applications, focusing on fully underwritten cases, medical records, and risk classification. You will work independently within a high-volume underwriting operation, applying medical terminology and guidelines to determine underwriting outcomes. The position offers remote flexibility and a contract-to-hire path, with opportunities to influence policy decisions and streamline risk assessment.

Responsibilities- Evaluate life insurance applications to determine risk classification (standard and substandard)
- Review medical records, APS, and prescription histories
- Assess high-risk medications and combinations
- Analyze adverse health information and determine underwriting outcomes
- Order medical exams and ensure required documentation is obtained
- Interpret and apply MIB codes
- Identify off-label medication usage and impact on underwriting decisions
- Evaluate reinstatements, add-ons, and policy modifications
- Maintain productivity standards with a high volume of cases
- Apply medical terminology knowledge to underwriting decisions
Key requirements- 2-3 years of life underwriting experience
- Experience with fully underwritten products (not automated underwriting)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Prescription history analysis
- Life insurance risk assessment
- Signing authority of $100,000+
- Proven ability to manage high case volumes efficiently
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
