Overview In this role you will produce, report, shoot, write, voice, edit and distribute news content across platforms. You will craft clear, engaging stories for audiences and contribute to a credible newsroom workflow. You'll work closely with editors to determine emphasis, length and format, while ensuring accuracy and editorial standards. This position offers exposure to multi-platform storytelling and direct audience engagement, joining a team that serves the local community with timely, high-quality journalism.
Responsibilities- Produce and present news reports for broadcast and digital platforms
- Arrange interviews and collect information through research and fieldwork
- Review and edit copy for style, grammar and accuracy
- Determine story emphasis, length and format; organize material accordingly
- Research background information to provide complete context
- Pitch and develop story ideas based on tips and leads
- Collaborate with producers and editors to set priorities
- Shoot and edit video footage for news reports
- Publish stories for web and eMedia platforms
- Engage with viewers on social media
- Meet editorial standards for integrity and production quality
- Handle special projects and additional duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field or equivalent experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent oral and written communication; ability to ad lib
- Minimum two years' experience in news reporting
- Strong on-air presence
- Proficiency with office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines and multitask
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
