Overview In this role you will work on-site in a hospital laboratory setting at a strategic client facility in Houston, managing referral send-out work and serving as a point of contact for client clinical staff. You will handle specimen intake, verification, processing, and shipping as applicable, while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve submission issues. You'll support LIS-related tasks, quality metrics, and staff training, and help maintain supply inventory. This position emphasizes patient-focused service and collaboration within Mayo Clinic's client networks.

Responsibilities- Manage referral send-out workflow as directed by client management
- Provide on-site customer service and serve as a resource to client lab staff
- Handle receipt, verification, processing, aliquoting, and shipping of specimens as applicable
- Oversee ordering, specimen resolution, and communication with stakeholders
- Monitor reports and collaborate with clients to resolve submission issues
- Support LIS-related tasks including LIS maintenance, test builds, and Joint Test Catalog maintenance
- Contribute to quality metrics and staff training for send-out operations
- Maintain MCL supply inventory and handle related duties as assigned
Key requirements- High school diploma/GED with 3 years of relevant experience or Bachelor/Associate degree with 1 year relevant experience
- Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to maintain confidentiality
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize with limited supervision
- Ability to adhere to safety requirements when handling chemicals and infectious agents
- On-site work requirement in Houston, TX
