Overview In this field-based role, you will support the medical objectives of Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease by serving as a scientific peer to HCPs and KOLs within your territory. You will build and maintain professional relationships, share relevant science, and identify collaboration opportunities that advance medical strategy. You will work with cross-functional partners to inform medical decisions and help drive the company's rare-disease goals. This is a hands-on, collaborative, field-based position with travel and strong emphasis on scientific exchange and real-world evidence.

Responsibilities- Profile and engage HCPs, identify centers of excellence, and craft impactful HCP engagement plans aligned with medical goals
- Gain HCP trust by communicating relevant scientific information on products and disease states
- Gather and disseminate HCP insights to inform medical strategy
- Develop strong external relationships across various business settings
- Maintain current scientific knowledge for assigned products and therapeutic areas
- Support scientific exchange with external stakeholders and provide information to internal teams
- Demonstrate understanding of real-world evidence and HEOR concepts
- Understand clinical study design and protocols to discuss outcomes credibly
- Provide focused, balanced clinical/scientific information to HCPs and stakeholders
- Support externally sponsored research and clinical trials as appropriate
- Acquire knowledge of the US healthcare system and managed markets foundations
- Understand information flow in managed care and government organizations
Key requirements- MD, PharmD, or PhD in biological sciences; clinical experience in a relevant area or track record as an MSL
- 2+ years of direct patient care experience
