Overview In this role, you will shape and govern Global R&D Finance standards to enable enterprise strategy alignment, transparency, and accountable investment decisions. You'll drive data-driven insights across the R&D lifecycle and collaborate with cross-functional partners to accelerate delivery of patient centric technologies. You'll lead and develop a high performing team while shaping end to end financial processes that support value creation and patient impact. Responsibilities- Design and continuously improve Global R&D Finance standards (planning, forecasting, capitalization, investment metrics, reporting)
- Establish governance for consistent project accounting and standard reporting
- Drive adoption of standards via documentation, training, and change management
- Provide forward-looking financial insights linking investment, risk, progress, and outcomes
- Ensure insights align with enterprise value creation and patient impact
- Manage staff performance and development in a high-performing team
- Partner with COE, R&D leaders, portfolio management, and CFO/FP&A for end-to-end alignment
- Serve as a connector between center-led finance and business-embedded teams to strengthen collaboration
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree plus 7+ years in Finance and/or Accounting, or advanced degree with 5+ years and 5+ years of progressive leadership experience
- Strong FP&A experience including expense analytics
- Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, change management, and presentation skills
- Ability to translate financial data into concise management information
- Strong organization and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Solid business acumen and stakeholder influence across management levels
- High initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work independently
- Experience with cross-functional, matrix-style collaboration and relationship-building
- Experience with Medtronic financial systems: SAP, OneStream, Power BI
- MS Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
