Overview In this role you drive accurate, competitive cost models for water and wastewater process mechanical scopes. You will lead estimating strategy, scope alignment, and milestone deliverables through GMP, working with design, operations, procurement, and trade partners. You shape quantity takeoffs, labor assumptions, and pricing, ensuring integrated, risk-aware estimates. Your work directly supports project handoff, self-perform coordination, and successful GMP-based outcomes. This position combines technical estimating leadership with cross-functional collaboration in a scale-focused environment.
Responsibilities- Lead process mechanical estimating for milestone estimates, budgets, GMP deliverables, and buyout planning
- Review drawings, specifications, and P&IDs to define scope and approach
- Direct quantity takeoff, estimate setup, labor development, and production rate application
- Develop estimating structure including system zones, items, assemblies, and supporting documentation
- Coordinate pricing strategy with vendors, fabricators, subcontractors, and internal partners
- Align with operations on means and methods, productivity, logistics, sequencing, and risk
- Coordinate with civil, E&I, and other estimators to prevent scope gaps and misalignment
- Lead kickoff meetings, internal reviews, and preparations for self-perform reviews
- Support or lead A3s, qualifications, assumptions, trend logs, and scope narratives
- Manage trend inputs, milestone comparisons, and incorporation of feedback
- Maintain organized estimate files and historical references for reviews and handoffs
- Support project transition to operations, including handoff and reconciliation
- Mentor estimators and promote consistency in tools and templates
