Overview As a Senior ServiceNow Platform Architect, you will own the enterprise ITSM architecture for a government agency, shaping how service management, AI-enabled capabilities, and dashboards come together on ServiceNow. You will set platform standards, security, and integration patterns, lead AI and automation initiatives, and provide senior technical guidance to developers. This onsite role in Quantico, VA involves travel and requires a Top Secret clearance. You will drive architecture decisions that enable transformation of government IT services and support cross-functional teams in a highly secure environment.
Responsibilities- Define and maintain ServiceNow platform architecture, instance strategy, integration patterns, and security alignment for the ITSM platform
- Lead architecture and technical direction for AI-enabled capabilities (Virtual Agent, AI Ops, Predictive Intelligence, Now Assist) and for Service Portal, Service Catalog, CMDB, knowledge management, and dashboards
- Review and approve solution designs, updates, and packages for architectural integrity, performance, and supportability
- Lead PoCs, market research, ROMs, and IT Capability Requests related to the platform
- Define target-state architecture for integrated customer support services spanning ITSM, AI-enabled tiers, endpoints, collaboration tools, and dashboards (Power BI with AD integration)
- Lead architecture for AI, automation, and advanced analytics initiatives ensuring security and governance approval
- Architect the Digital Twin capability for network and system modeling and testing in a digital replica
- Provide expert technical analysis for IT Capability Requests, including elicitation, gap analysis, market research, ROMs, and briefing materials
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree with 15 years of related IT experience (Master's years)
- US Citizen with Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (T5/T5R)
- Current DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III baseline certification (e.g., CISSP, CASP+, CCNP Security, GCIH)
- 15+ years of progressive IT experience including 5+ years as architect for large multi-site IT services
- Expert knowledge of enterprise ITSM platforms (ServiceNow), endpoint management, Microsoft 365/Power Platform, and Power BI analytics
- Experience architecting AI/ML, automation, or advanced analytics for IT operations and customer support
- Experience delivering solution alternatives, business cases, ROMs, and executive briefings for Government/enterprise decision-makers
- Experience designing solutions meeting DoD cybersecurity requirements (RMF, DISA STIGs/SRGs, Zero Trust) and achieving ATO
- Experience leading and mentoring multidisciplinary technical teams and reviewing engineering artifacts
- Excellent technical writing, briefing, and stakeholder engagement skills, including with senior Government executives
