Overview In this Senior MSL role you will serve as a field-based scientific expert supporting medical and scientific objectives across product lifecycles. You will build and sustain expert relationships with HCPs and KOLs, translating complex science into practical medical insights. You'll mentor other MSLs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape medical strategy and engagement plans. You'll anticipate barriers and drive opportunities with minimal direction, contributing to a patient-focused rare disease mission.
Responsibilities- Profile and engage HCPs, identify centers of excellence, and manage HCP relationships
- Develop clear HCP engagement plans aligned with medical goals and adjust them based on priorities
- Provide current, balanced scientific information to HCPs and maintain trust
- Gather insights from HCPs and disseminate internally to inform medical strategy
- Foster external relationships and explore new engagement approaches and resource development
- Maintain up-to-date scientific knowledge in assigned products and therapeutic area
- Support scientific exchange on product/disease state with external stakeholders
- Educate internal teams on relevant scientific information
- Demonstrate understanding of real-world evidence and HEOR
- Support externally sponsored research and clinical trials as appropriate
- Understand US healthcare system and managed care foundations
Key requirements- BS Degree in Biological Sciences or related major
- 3+ years of professional experience in a clinical setting or related therapeutic area
- MD, PharmD, or PhD strongly preferred and/or 2+ years as an MSL
- Industry experience or equivalent (preferably >3 years)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- Proven leadership and high-performance as MSL
- Experience with relevant therapeutic areas for biologics/ therapies
- Willingness to travel 70% within territory
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
