Overview In this Production Manager role, you guide a diverse plant team to deliver safe, high-quality food products while maximizing productivity. You'll lead cross-functional collaboration to meet customer requirements and regulatory standards, and drive continuous improvement across the production process. Responsibilities- Lead and coach a team of production supervisors to improve performance and engagement
- Foster a positive, learning-oriented environment with open communication
- Set production goals and develop plans to achieve them
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration (quality, sanitation, R&D, supply chain, distribution, HR)
- Lead regular meetings on safety, performance, KPI, and process opportunities
- Champion food safety and quality, ensuring compliance with OSHA, USDA, FDA, EPA, EEOC, OFCCP
- Establish and monitor production KPIs related to efficiency, safety, and partner performance
- Align production with customer requirements and timely scheduling of orders
- Identify and communicate capital improvements; manage capital projects
- Lead change initiatives to adopt new technologies/processes
- Promote continuous improvement through team-led problem solving
- Track budgets and administer pay systems and performance processes
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans and PCPs/CCPs; audit and action non-compliances
- Interpret customer requirements for plant production and support groups
- Lead with a culture of dignity and respect across diverse teams
Key requirements- Bachelor in Food/Dairy Science, Agriculture, Business Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain or related field preferred
- 2+ years of Production Supervisor or equivalent experience
- Proactive, solution-focused mindset with strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to collaborate with diverse partners and foster a respectful culture
- Change leadership capability and willingness to drive organizational growth
- Willingness to travel up to 15%
- Alternative: high school diploma or GED with 3-5 years of proven production leadership experience
