Overview In this role you will independently drive complex nanoscale fabrication research in a shared CNS facility, design and optimize analysis workflows, and train researchers. You will teach soft-material fabrication and hybrid device technologies, ensuring smooth operation of the cleanroom and labs. You'll collaborate with CNS staff and external users to advance flexible device fabrication. This position offers impact across Harvard and external partners through hands-on fabrication, process development, and safety leadership.

Responsibilities- Support and train users in soft-material fabrication tools and processes
- Maintain and operate soft-material cleanroom and fabrication labs
- Perform process development for flexible/hybrid device fabrication
- Document instrument activity, results, and SOPs
- Oversee safety compliance with Harvard and government regulations
- Collaborate with CNS staff and research groups to enhance service quality
- Provide remote support to CNS users
- Author SOPs and procedural documents for Flexible Nanofabrication Facility
Key requirements- Bachelor in scientific or engineering discipline with at least 2 years of relevant experience OR 7+ years of relevant experience
- Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Surface Science, Physics, Materials Science, Bio/Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related field with 3-5 years semiconductor experience (desirable)
- Cleanroom fabrication experience with lithography (highly desirable)
- Experience with photolithography, polymer/resist coating, wet etching, chemical processing, oxygen plasma cleaning
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping tools (laser cutting, 3D printing) and nanoparticle tools
- Strong record-keeping, data analysis, and SOP development skills
- Good verbal/written communication and teamwork with students and researchers
