Senior Principal Planner

Overview

In this Senior Principal Planner role, you solve complex planning challenges that shape program direction and resource allocation across major projects. You will serve as a planning expert within Project Controls, influencing schedules and governance to support delivery. You'll work with cross-functional teams to translate strategies into integrated plans, addressing risks and constraints. This position offers impact across offshore, subsea, and energy-transition initiatives at a global company.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development and governance of Level 3 and Level 4 schedules using Primavera P6
  • Translate execution strategies and scope into integrated schedules
  • Establish WBS, calendars, milestones, and reporting frameworks
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary planning workshops and schedule reviews
  • Develop integrated schedules across Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction, Installation, Commissioning, and Readiness activities
  • Ensure schedules reflect resources, long-lead procurement, interfaces, permitting, marine logistics, weather, and other drivers
  • Analyze project performance with critical path, trend analysis, and schedule forecasting
  • Perform schedule risk assessments and develop mitigation and recovery strategies
  • Coordinate schedule integration with cost, progress, earned value, risk, and reporting systems
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, schedule reviews with clients and internal teams
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and development of planning standards and processes
  • Lead lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives in planning
Key requirements
  • 15+ years of planning and scheduling experience on major EPC/EPCI/EPCIC capital projects
  • Advanced Primavera P6 expertise
  • Strong understanding of critical path methodology, schedule forecasting, schedule assurance, and risk analysis
  • Experience creating and managing integrated multidisciplinary schedules across full project lifecycle
  • Advanced Excel skills (curves, histograms, dynamic tables, formulas)
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, LNG, Power, Industrial or related industries
  • Strong communication, leadership, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence decisions using objective analysis and sound judgment
