As General Manager, you will have full responsibility for restaurant operations, team development, financial performance, guest satisfaction, and culture. We are looking for a hands-on leader who leads from the floor, develops people, and takes ownership of results. Leadership & Team DevelopmentOur General Managers build teams-not just schedules.You will:Recruit, interview, hire, train, coach, and develop a high-performing restaurant teamLead and develop Managers, Chefs, Sous Chefs, and hourly team membersCreate a positive, accountable, respectful, and hospitality-driven cultureEstablish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountableProvide consistent positive and constructive coachingConduct performance evaluations and goal-setting discussionsDevelop managers through regular one-on-one coaching and day-to-day leadershipIdentify high-potential employees and develop future leadersBuild leadership depth and succession planning within the restaurantEnsure consistent execution of company training programs for management and hourly employeesMaintain an accurate staffing plan and proactively recruit before staffing becomes criticalPartner effectively with Operations, Human Resources, Culinary Leadership, and other company departmentsAddress employee performance and disciplinary matters promptly and appropriatelyLead by example and consistently follow and enforce company policies and proceduresWe believe in success and generosity. We value learning, growth, accountability, and teamwork.Restaurant OperationsOur General Managers are expected to know their restaurants inside and out.You will:Oversee all Front of House and Back of House operationsEnsure every shift is executed at or above established restaurant standardsMaintain exceptional standards for food quality, service, hospitality, cleanliness, and ambianceBe visible and actively engaged on the restaurant floorManage shifts and make effective real-time operational decisionsMaintain proper staffing and scheduling based on business needs and projected salesEnsure consistent execution of recipes, food preparation, presentation, and service standardsOversee inventory, ordering, receiving, storage, and product controlsMaintain strong operational systems and ensure managers consistently follow themInvestigate and resolve guest concerns professionally and appropriatelyDevelop relationships with regular guests and build guest loyaltyEnsure opening, running, and closing procedures are completed correctlyMaintain a clean, organized, professional, and restaurant-ready environmentOversee restaurant technology and operational systems, including POS, scheduling, payroll/timekeeping, and inventory platformsCommunicate effectively between shifts and ensure important information reaches the appropriate managers and team membersSuccessfully plan and execute special events, large parties, catering opportunities, and marketing events when applicableFinancial Performance & Business OwnershipA General Manager must understand both hospitality and the business of hospitality.You will be responsible for:Understanding and managing the restaurant's P&LMeeting established sales, labor, food cost, beverage cost, and profitability goalsMonitoring labor and adjusting staffing appropriately based on business volumeManaging food, beverage, supply, utility, and other controllable expensesReviewing financial reports and identifying trends, concerns, and opportunitiesUnderstanding theoretical versus actual costs and investigating significant variancesManaging inventory and ordering responsiblyMinimizing waste while protecting product quality and guest experienceEnsuring invoices and financial documentation are processed accurately and on timeEnsuring payroll and personnel-related administrative responsibilities are completed accurately and within established deadlines Driving sales while protecting profitability Developing and executing action plans when financial or operational goals are not being metTaking ownership of the financial performance of the restaurant rather than simply reporting the numbersWe're looking for a General Manager who can look at a P&L and understand what happened, why it happened, and what actions need to happen next.Guest Experience & HospitalityGreat restaurant operations mean very little if guests don't want to come back. Our General Managers are responsible for creating a culture where hospitality is everyone's responsibility.You will:Ensure guests consistently receive friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive serviceBe present and accessible to guests during serviceDevelop relationships with regular guests and the surrounding communityCoach employees on hospitality and service standardsAddress guest concerns quickly, professionally, and appropriatelyLook for opportunities to recover a guest experience before the guest leavesEnsure food and beverages meet company quality and presentation standardsCreate an environment that feels welcoming, energetic, and genuineReinforce the understanding that every position-from Dishwasher to General Manager-contributes to the guest experienceFood Safety, Workplace Safety & ComplianceThe General Manager owns the condition and compliance of their restaurant.Responsibilities include:Enforce proper food handling and sanitation practicesMaintain restaurant readiness for health department inspectionsEnsure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local requirementsMaintain clean and sanitary kitchens, bars, dining rooms, restrooms, storage areas, and exterior areasEnsure proper employee uniform and appearance standardsMaintain a safe working and guest environmentEnsure proper security procedures are followed to protect employees, guests, and company assetsRespond appropriately to employee and guest injuriesEnsure required incident and accident documentation is completed promptlyImmediately communicate significant safety, employee, guest, or operational concerns through the appropriate company channelsCorrect food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety concerns with urgencyPeople & StaffingThe success of a restaurant depends on having the right people, properly trained, in the right positions.The General Manager will:Own the restaurant's overall staffing planOversee hourly recruiting, interviewing, selection, and hiringEnsure new employees complete required onboarding before beginning workConduct or oversee new-hire orientationEnsure employees are properly trained and certified for their positionsEnsure managers and trainers consistently execute established training programsMonitor employee performance and provide ongoing feedbackMaintain appropriate documentation regarding performance and disciplinary mattersAddress attendance, conduct, performance, and policy concerns consistentlyPrepare effective schedules based on availability, performance, business needs, and projected volumeMaintain appropriate staffing levels without unnecessarily increasing laborDevelop employees who demonstrate the ability and desire to advance within the organizationSystems & Administrative AccountabilityA strong General Manager follows through.You will be responsible for ensuring restaurant information is accurate, complete, and submitted on time.This includes:Employee timekeepingSchedulingPayroll-related informationInventoryOrderingInvoices & ExpensesFinancial reportingEmployee records and documentationOperational checklistsRequired inspections and compliance documentationAccident and incident reportsRestaurant technology and POS systemsExperience with Toast POS, restaurant scheduling platforms, payroll/timekeeping systems, inventory software, Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Drive, and similar restaurant technology is preferred.What We're Looking ForRequired Experience & Qualifications5+ years of General Manager experience in a full-service restaurant environment preferredSignificant leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant operationProven ability to successfully oversee both Front of House and Back of House operationsStrong understanding of restaurant financials and P&L managementDemonstrated experience managing labor, food costs, beverage costs, inventory, and controllable expensesProven experience recruiting, coaching, managing, and developing restaurant teamsExperience leading and developing other managersStrong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and restaurant operational standardsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and time-management abilitiesAbility to prioritize and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environmentProactive problem-solving skillsStrong computer and restaurant technology skillsFlexible availability based on the needs of the restaurant, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special eventsPreferred ExperienceExperience managing restaurants with $4M+ in annual salesNew restaurant opening experienceExperience developing managers and building leadership successionStrong beverage and bar operational knowledgeExperience with high-volume full-service restaurantsExperience with Toast POS and restaurant scheduling, payroll . click apply for full job details
