Locums - Woodland, California, Hospitalist Opening
Clinical Role
- Start January 2027
- 2 Hospitalists needed
- Hospital-based coverage
- Approximately 12-16 patients per day
- Open ICU
- Coverage needed due to staffing vacancies and provider leave
Schedule & Coverage
- Day shift: 8:00 am-6:00 pm
- Night shift: 6:00 pm-7:00 am
- Approximately 6-12 day shifts per month
- Approximately 2-4 night shifts per month
- Occasional additional coverage may be available
- Providers must be willing to work a mix of day and night shifts
Practice Model & Clinical Expectations
- Admit patients from the Emergency Department
- Conduct daily rounds and complete progress notes
- Manage acute medical conditions
- Coordinate care with subspecialists
- Review laboratory and imaging results
- Medication reconciliation
- Discharge planning and follow-up instructions
- Communicate with primary care physicians
- Conduct family meetings and care conferences
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and case management
- Adhere to hospital quality and safety protocols
- Participate in process improvement initiatives
Support & Systems
Requirements & Credentialing
- Board Certification required
- Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency required
- Active California license required
- Clean malpractice history highly preferred
