Neonatology Physician

Coverage: Per Diem / Day & Night Coverage
Practice Setting: Level III NICU

Schedule:

• Day: 7:30 AM 5:00 PM 2 Neonatologists
• Night: 5:00 PM 7:30 AM 1 in-house Neonatologist
• Coverage needed December 30, December 31, 2026, and January 1, 2027

NICU / Patient Volume:

• 40-bed Level III NICU
• 2025 YTD NICU admissions: 130
• Average NICU daily census: 14.3
• Nursery daily census: 24.2

Services / Procedures:

• High-frequency ventilation (HFOV & HFJV)
• Inhaled nitric oxide
• Therapeutic hypothermia with aEEG
• Pediatric surgical patients
• Nurse-driven transport team with physician oversight
• No ECMO or cardiac surgery, except PDA ligations

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Neonatology
• Recent Neonatology experience
• At least 6 months of clinical experience in the specialty
• Must have been clinically active within the past year
• Virginia medical license
