Join an inpatient rehabilitation team in Wilmington, North Carolina, as a locum tenens Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician (physiatrist). This on-site physician job supports patients recovering primarily from neurologic conditions, including stroke and traumatic brain injury. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team, supervise 3-4 advanced practice providers, lead team conferences, and provide medical management across inpatient rehabilitation and consultation services. Physician Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,480-$7,670

- Patient Volume: Up to 33 inpatient rehabilitation patients; consultation service of approximately 25-40 patients
- Patient Encounters: Approximately 30 per shift

Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- At least 1 year of experience in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, inpatient rehabilitation, or a closely related setting
- Active North Carolina medical license or eligibility for licensure
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience providing medical management for patients with complex neurologic and rehabilitation needs
- Acute and chronic pain management experience preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and advanced practice providers
PM&R Physician Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical management for patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
- Care for patients with neurologic diagnoses, including stroke and traumatic brain injury
- Supervise and collaborate with 3-4 advanced practice providers
- Lead and participate in interdisciplinary rehabilitation team conferences
- Evaluate and manage patients through a robust consultation service
- Coordinate treatment plans with nursing, therapy, case management, and other clinical disciplines
- Support continuity of care, patient safety, and functional recovery throughout rehabilitation
- Work weekday daytime hours with no outpatient responsibilities
