Locum Tenens Physician Job Details
- Specialty: Geriatric Medicine
- Practice Setting: Outpatient clinic and community-based patient visits
- Patient Population: Adults age 55 and older
- Employment Type: Per diem locum tenens physician coverage
- Coverage Begins: November 1, 2026, with ongoing coverage needs
- Schedule: Weekdays, generally 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; 3-4 days per week may be considered, with a minimum commitment of 2 weeks per month. Full-time availability is preferred.
- Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
- Guaranteed Hours: 8 hours per day
- Patient Volume: Approximately 4-6 patient encounters per shift
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $4,160-$4,460
Geriatric Physician Job Requirements
- Medical degree and completion of an accredited physician training program
- At least 1 year of physician clinical experience
- Demonstrated experience caring for geriatric patients, preferably in an outpatient or community-based setting
- Family Medicine or Internal Medicine training and background
- Active physician license valid for practice in Oregon
- Board certified or board eligible
- Current DEA registration
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to provide care in the clinic and travel locally to patient residences, assisted living communities, and skilled nursing facilities as needed
Geriatric Physician Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care and geriatric medicine services to adults age 55 and older
- Conduct outpatient evaluations, follow-up visits, and home-based patient assessments
- Manage acute and chronic medical conditions with a focus on function, quality of life, and patient-centered goals
- Complete approximately 4-6 patient encounters per shift
- Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team of approximately 11 professionals
- Collaborate with nursing and other care team members during community and home visits
- Document assessments, treatment plans, and clinical updates in the electronic medical record
- Support care coordination and communication across clinic, home, assisted living, and skilled nursing settings
