Job Purpose The Engineer will perform activities associated with all areas of structural test, including but not limited to static, fatigue and dynamic test environments. Engineer will support a wide range of test projects, which will include small component tests and large full-scale assemblies.
Key Accountabilities - Review Test Plans/Requirements and Coordinate with Stress Engineering, Systems Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality to prepare and ensure implementation of test requirements.
- Experience working with instrumentation sensors such as, Strain Gages, Load Cells, Pressure Sensors, Thermocouples, Extensometers and Displacement Transducers.
- Create and implement solutions for conducting testing including fixture design and fabrication and lead a group of technicians and peers for accomplishing tasks.
- Inspect 3D models and create documents for test setup.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills - Minimum Educational Qualifications: Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering bachelor's degree
- Minimum Experience: 3 years relevant test experience supporting Materials or Structural Testing
- Other Job-Specific Skills: Experience working with instrumentation sensors such as, Strain Gages, Force Cells, Pressure Sensors, Thermocouples, Extensometers and Displacement Transducers. Proficiency in CATIA V5 (or equivalent), Microsoft Office; excellent written and communication Skills
Decisions Expected - Ability to come up with and implement creative solutions for conducting testing including fixture design and fabrication.
- Troubleshoot and resolve test setup issues.
- Perform analysis for adequate size test hardware.
Working Conditions - Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
- Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
- Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
