Shift Information
Training Schedule (Day Shift)
- Monday - Thursday: 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM
- Overtime as required
Permanent Night Shift
- Monday - Friday: 3:30 PM - 2:30 AM
- $2.00/hour shift premium
- Overtime as required
Important: Candidates must be able to train on Day Shift and then transition to Night Shift.
Job Summary
As a Welder, you will perform weld preparation, MIG welding, and finishing operations to manufacture products according to customer drawings, specifications, and production requirements. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to interpret blueprints, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG welding on steel and stainless-steel components.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and weld requirements.
- Prepare materials for welding and complete weld finishing operations.
- Conduct visual inspections to ensure weld quality and compliance with specifications.
- Operate welding equipment, grinders, scaling guns, and related tools safely.
- Follow all company quality standards, safety policies, and work instructions.
- Meet production schedules and deadlines while maintaining workmanship standards.
- Utilize basic computer functions related to departmental operations.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently on moderately complex job assignments.
- Strong blueprint and weld symbol interpretation skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot routine issues and make sound decisions.
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to learn and follow all quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Formal technical training preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of directly related welding experience strongly preferred.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Experience with MIG welding equipment and machine adjustments.
- Ability to operate grinders and scaling guns.
- Familiarity with the use of flow meters.
Welding Assessment Requirements
Qualified candidates must successfully:
- Pass a weld test in Vertical and Overhead positions (single and multiple pass).
- Demonstrate proper use of a weld fillet gauge.
- Perform visual weld inspections to ensure compliance with workmanship standards.
- Pass both BC (Manual Steel Fillet) and CJ (Manual Stainless Steel) certification assessments, including written and practical testing.
