Overview As a Business Architect, you will shape Citi's Finance architecture to enable transformative IT initiatives. You'll document current-state processes and design future-state capabilities, with a growing focus on AI and automation. You will partner with Finance, Shared Services, and data teams to ensure data alignment, governance, and compliant, timely financial reporting. This role blends strategy with hands-on architecture to drive enterprise-wide improvements in a regulated environment. Responsibilities- Define strategic direction for Enterprise Business Architecture across Citi's businesses and locations
- Incorporate business and regulatory needs into the Enterprise Business Architecture & Transformation framework
- Collaborate with Finance and Shared Services to document current and future-state architectures tied to processes
- Coordinate with data architects to align data dependencies with business architecture and governance
- Engage technical partners to align investments with target state architecture and flag deviations
- Contribute to architecture principles for straight-through processing and accurate financial reporting
- Support governance processes like Finance Tech Design Authority and Permit to Design / Build
- Identify opportunities to embed AI, ML, and GenAI within Finance processes with proper governance
- Contribute to capability mapping, maturity assessments, and centralized architecture knowledge repository
- Promote continuous improvement of the discipline through tooling and training
- Assess risk in decisions to safeguard Citi's reputation and assets
Key requirements- 6+ years in an engineering or architecture role supporting Finance or related functions
- Experience contributing to cross-functional process improvement and enterprise architecture changes
- Comfortable in matrix environments; organized and able to manage multiple workstreams
- Strong communication skills for engagement up to senior management
- Methodical, detail-oriented with modern enterprise information architecture practices
- AI domain knowledge: understanding of AI/ML, GenAI, and agentic automation in Finance
- AI personal productivity: ability to use AI tools with prompt engineering and critical evaluation
