Responsibilities- Serve as lead technical expert for product analytics and guide analytical work
- Analyze usage patterns, funnel performance, and friction to understand adoption drivers
- Gather and interpret data from telemetry, digital analytics, surveys, interviews, and dealer feedback
- Apply statistical methods (segmentation, anomaly detection, cohort analysis) to answer product questions
- Design and build dashboards using Power BI or Tableau; model datasets in Snowflake; validate data with SQL
- Create dashboard concepts and wireframes; document data sources, calculations, and metric definitions
- Establish governance for adoption reporting, including metric definitions, refresh cadence, and data quality checks
- Support experimentation and product learning (A/B testing, pilot measurement); link findings to design and roadmap
- Present findings to leaders and collaborate with Product, DACS, Dealers, Customer Support, Industry Partners
- Research industry trends in digital and AI adoption measurement and communicate learnings to technical/non-technical audiences
- Perform other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management
Key requirements- Extensive experience analyzing product usage, user behavior, engagement, retention, or customer experience data
- Ability to define KPIs and analytical frameworks linking product behavior to business outcomes
- Strong analytical curiosity and problem-solving mindset
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
- Experience with Snowflake or enterprise data warehouses
- Strong SQL skills; familiarity with Python or R for advanced analysis preferred
- Knowledge of statistical methods: cohort analysis, segmentation, experimentation, A/B testing, anomaly detection
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders
- Experience producing data dictionaries, metric definitions, and reporting guidance
- Excellent technical documentation skills and cross-functional collaboration
- Comfortable as a first-of-role IC; ability to lead multiple workstreams
- Familiarity with AI-enabled digital products is a plus
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Product Management, or equivalent
