Overview

As a Construction Manager within Woolpert's Construction Engineer & Inspection team in St. George, you will lead field operations for aviation and infrastructure projects. You collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery. You'll supervise inspection staff, manage contractor performance, and keep meticulous project documentation. This role offers growth within a globally recognized, innovation-driven firm.

Responsibilities
  • Manage construction inspection activities for infrastructure and aviation projects, ensuring contract compliance
  • Lead and supervise inspection staff with mentorship and performance oversight
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to align on goals and expectations
  • Monitor contractor performance, review submittals, and recommend corrective actions
  • Oversee material/workmanship quality per project specs
  • Provide on-site leadership, issue field directions, and help resolve issues
  • Track progress, prepare daily/weekly reports, and maintain documentation
  • Develop meeting agendas, facilitate discussions, and record minutes
  • Support project budgeting and scheduling
  • Review certified payrolls for Davis-Bacon compliance
  • Ensure accuracy of as-built drawings
  • Promote and enforce job site safety standards and procedures
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 15+ years of construction management or project management experience
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering and land development construction practices
  • Experience with construction inspection, observation reporting, and quantity tracking
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback to team members
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to safely navigate construction sites and comply with safety requirements
