Overview As a Construction Manager within Woolpert's Construction Engineer & Inspection team in St. George, you will lead field operations for aviation and infrastructure projects. You collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery. Responsibilities- Manage construction inspection activities for infrastructure and aviation projects, ensuring contract compliance
- Lead and supervise inspection staff with mentorship and performance oversight
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to align on goals and expectations
- Monitor contractor performance, review submittals, and recommend corrective actions
- Oversee material/workmanship quality per project specs
- Provide on-site leadership, issue field directions, and help resolve issues
- Track progress, prepare daily/weekly reports, and maintain documentation
- Develop meeting agendas, facilitate discussions, and record minutes
- Support project budgeting and scheduling
- Review certified payrolls for Davis-Bacon compliance
- Ensure accuracy of as-built drawings
- Promote and enforce job site safety standards and procedures
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 15+ years of construction management or project management experience
- Strong understanding of civil engineering and land development construction practices
- Experience with construction inspection, observation reporting, and quantity tracking
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to provide constructive feedback to team members
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to safely navigate construction sites and comply with safety requirements
