Overview

As Lead, you will guide the Ceded Reinsurance Administration team within the Reinsurance Treaty Administration function to support Finance Operations and strategic capital management. You will act as the subject matter expert on ceded reinsurance treaties, partnering with Finance, Product, and IT to operationalize settlements, reporting, and treaty enhancements. You will drive continuous improvement by automating processes, monitoring treaty performance, and providing business insights to stakeholders. This role offers cross-functional collaboration, exposure to complex reinsurance programs, and the opportunity to shape treaty administration for scale and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Lead treaty administration and analysis activities for ceded reinsurance portfolios
  • Prepare and review monthly/quarterly treaty settlements and manage receivables/payables with counterparties
  • Support financial close processes with accounting and financial reporting teams
  • Monitor treaty experience against risk sharing and retention limits
  • Analyze treaty financial results and trends relative to budgets/strategic plans
  • Oversee reinsurance claims processing and validate complex claims against treaty parameters
  • Contribute to design and implementation of new/ amended treaties and administrative functions
  • Provide input for treaty negotiations and arbitrations
  • Design scalable processes and controls with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Coordinate documentation for internal and external audits
Key requirements
  • Bachelor degree
  • 6+ years reinsurance operational experience with life and/or annuity products
  • 2+ years people leadership experience
  • Understanding of reinsurance administration, treaty mechanics and accounting implications
  • Continuous improvement mindset with process analysis and optimization experience
  • Ability to use data to diagnose issues and inform decisions
  • Experience with reinsurance technology applications (e.g., TAI) and Excel
